Graduated with excellence from the Simón Bolívar ​Conservatory of Music as a Cello Performer, and with

Cum Laude honors as a Symphonic Soloist from the

National Experimental University of the Arts, both in ​Venezuela; Luis finished his Master’s and started the

Doctoral program in Music Performance – Cello

at LSU with Professor Dennis Parker in the US, winning the ​soloist competition 2023.

Luis began his musical studies with El Sistema, Venezuela ​at the age of 4, and Violoncello at 8. From 2004 to 2006 ​he participated at the International Summer Fest with ​the Academia Latinoamericana de Violoncello ​(Venezuela).

The International Musical Improvement Course with

the renowned cellist Wolfgang Boettcher in 2011 (Spain); ​The Sull'Acqua Music Festival (Italy) and Youth European ​Union Soloists Music Festival (Venezuela) in 2019, the ​Collaborative Piano Institute (USA) in 2022, the Woman ​Composer Fest (USA), and the Mostly Modern Music Fest ​(USA), winning the Honorific Mention for the Concerto ​Competition; both in 2023.

Luis is also a Britten Pears Young Artist 2020 (United ​Kingdom), 3rd place of the Samnium International ​Competition in 2019 (Italy), and Cello Principal of the LSU ​Symphony Orchestra from 2021 to 2022 (USA).

Playing a great part of the orchestral repertoire and having the ​chance to work with great conductors such as Gustavo ​Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle; Sung Kwak; Cristian Vásquez; Diego ​Matheus and Dick Van Gasteren.

From 2007 to 2011, Luis belonged to the National Children's ​Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and was then invited by the ​Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra to the 2013 Salzburg ​Music Festival and the 2013 Asia Tour, playing in Japan and ​South Korea. Later, became a member of the Teresa Carreño ​Symphony Orchestra, having presentations on the most ​important stages in Europe, Turkey and Asia; and by 2018 Luis ​became the cello principal of the Juan José Landaeta ​Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.
